What is WinBidPro v15?

WinBidPro v15 is the third major Microsoft Windows release of the GDS Storefront Estimating System. Prior to this it was an MS-DOS program, and prior to that a CPM program!

WinBidPro is an entirely new program that keeps the same philosophy and concepts that GDS has always believed in. Our software has always been easy to learn, easy to understand and use, very flexible in terms of adding and changing information, and WinBidPro is no different. What has changed is its ability to handle larger, more complicated jobs, and newer, more complicated architectural systems. The architectural glass industry is evolving, so we must evolve with it!

Does the WinBidPro upgrade Cost Extra?

NO! As a licensed subscriber to GDS software, you are able to download this new v15 software at no additional cost. Your existing license will work with both programs. Of course new customers will need to purchase a subscription.  More Details

What's New with WinBidPro v15.1.16?

  1. WinBidPro will now Backup your vendor database whenever you open it. This will occur once a day, so you will find backup files in your vendor folder with the day of the week at the end of the file name. We still recommend backing up your entire vendor folder to an external device as often as possible!

  2. A note was added to the drawing window whenever you add a new elevation. This reminds new users that information like panels, height, and width are required before continuing.

  3. The Add Cut Piece window in the Optimizer was enhanced to allow you to enter fractions or decimals in the cut length field. It previously only allowed decimal sizes.

  4. Also in the Optimizer window, the "Used" and "Drop" values were not accurately reflecting the true material used and left over for each stock length. These numbers now account for saw cut material loss, and rounding to the nearest inch only happens with the total value to show a whole number.

  5. Fixed bug in Glass Stop tab of drawing window that was showing glass stop records from other jobs and elevations when a glass stop or glazing adapter was added to or deleted from the current elevation.

  6. Fixed Jobs window so that Edit Job Glass button is grayed out until a job is selected.

  7. Fixed Problem when adding horizontal above the previous horizontal. Program was finding more than a previous horizontal to reference, and ending up with the wrong height.

  8. Fixed Problem when trying to Cancel out of Vendor window when starting program. Have to select a vendor.

  9. Fixed problem in the Glass Table window where if you close the window after changing a part without clicking on a different row first, it would not save the part. The part will now get saved even if you don't click on a different row.

  10. Took out Head and Sill Receptor columns from Framing System list. Also took out Sort by UserID from Sort drop down.

  11. Fixed Null Error on elevations with Alternate Verticals that were created before v15.1.15.

  12. Changed CompactVendorFile sub in GlobalSubs to backup file when exiting and compact file from tools in Vendor window and when prompted.

  13. Fixed bug with splits in a window that occur between a horizontal in the window and the top of the elevation.

  14. Fixed bug with Horizontal Face Cover material. Face covers were not getting cut in between the wall jambs as they should.

  15. Fixed problem with “Per Elevation” misc parts not getting included in bid.

  16. Fixed problem with too many parts per Jamb and Vertical when tell elevations have splices.

  17. Fixed bug in Installation labor calculation. Perimeter caulking was figuring lineal footage for whole job for each elevation.

  18. Commented out Engineering dimensions on drawing when 32nd precision is selected. The fractional and Architectural dimensions will be used instead.

  19. Fixed bug when a door frame with a subframe was in use, the transom glass was not being dimensioned properly.

  20. Fixed bug where Misc Labor Rate was getting changed randomly in the Frame labor window.

  21. Fixed bug that was causing door stop material to double up with tall elevations.

  22. Fixed bug when a split it added in a window above a door with a sub frame, the split was the wrong length because it was based on the profile of the sub frame head, and not the horizontal directly above it.

  23. Fixed error that can occurs when an invalid split is entered.

  24. Fixed problem when using a split with horizontals inside a window above a door (transom). Lines would appear intersected at some horizontals showing there was a problem. The program was actually including too much horizontal material in this situation.

  25. Fixed bug where stock length door jamb material was not splicing correctly in tall elevations.
